HARSHLAB 2
Vicinay Sestao manufactured the chains for HarshLab 2.
Harshlab 2 is a floating laboratory for the evaluation of components, equipment and materials in a 100% offshore environment, especially suitable for testing new materials, corrosion, ageing and fouling solutions in three different marine exposure zones: immersion, splash and atmospheric.
- After three years of work in the open sea at BIMEP, Tecnalia installed the second version of this infrastructure, equipped with greater features and capacities that will allow the continuation of the previous activity and at the same time undertake new tests and R&D activities aimed at improving the competitiveness of the offshore industry.
- Vicinay Sestao manufactured 93 tonnes of 70 millimiter diameter chain, while VMC manufactured 4 tonnes of connectors. A tensioner that will be tested in real conditions is also included.
