CHAIN MANUFACTURE FOR FLOATING OFFSHORE WIND PILOT PROJECT IN FRANCE, PROVENCE GRAND LARGE

It is funded by ADEME (Agence de la Transition Écologique) as part of the French government’s support for renewable energies. The project won the Call for Projects issued by ADEME and is made up of three wind turbines of 8 Megawatts each.
Its target is to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of the innovative technology for the implementation of it in France.
The turbines will be installed in the Faraman area 17 km offshore from Port Saint Louis du Rhône.
The project will later be connected to the public electricity network by submarine cable. It is estimated that it will generate the equivalent consumption of approximately 50,000 inhabitants.
